Marissa VanDeusen grew up in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona and it was at the age of five she began taking lessons in her mother’s piano studio. Music has always been a part of her life, having been raised in a music pastor’s family. In 2011 and then 2015 she earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and then a master’s degree in voice performance from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. While completing her master’s degree, she joined her husband Kyle in Orlando, FL where she ministered in their church both as a musician and ladies ministry coordinator.
Marissa and her husband Kyle have been married for five years and have been blessed with two children, Rory (4) and Scott (2). In 2016, the Lord opened up the door for the VanDeusen family to return to South Carolina and continue ministering in church. When she is not teaching music lessons or directing choirs, she enjoys chatting with friends over a good cup of coffee and working in home and furniture design.
Marissa is excited to join Chapin Presbyterian Church as their worship director and gives God the glory for the great things He will do in His church.
